Schotman Barrel Selection Foursquare 17 Years Old 2005 is a single barrel rum from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados, This 2nd release of Schotman Barrel Selection is an exceptional rum with a full-bodied and rich flavour profile that will please the rum connoisseur. This single barrel rum is made in both column and pot still distillate from a single distillery. The rum was distilled in 2005 and aged in ex-bourbon casks for 17 years at Barbados in the tropics and continental in the UK. It was bottled in July 2022 at a cask strength of 58.4%. Foursquare is a rum distillery in Barbados, reopened in 1996 by the Seale family. It is located on a former sugar plantation that was founded around 1720. The sugar factory ceased production in the late 1980s, so Foursquare imports most of its molasses from Guyana. The distillery is currently led by Richard Seale, a fourth-generation family member who has been in the rum business since 1820.

According to the jury of the World Rum Awards, this is the best Pot and Column still rum in the world 2023.

Jury assessment:
"Rich caramel and toffee on the nose. More rich toffee on the palate, a little bit of heat on the tongue. Dry chewiness as it develops with some dried fruits in there too. Sultanas and raisins. Quite a long and warming finish. Great ABV - drinks so very easily."
